Red magic is also known as the people’s magic or Volk Magie, which some American cultures call Hoodoo. But in reality, red magic is the simplest form of magic widely used by different kinds of magic-practicing communities. Red magic enlightens the practitioner with the knowledge that magic is within us and that magic is within everyone. We are spiritual, and our body is the medium to communicate with this world.
With the kind of practice followed in red magic spell casting techniques, red magic also became famous for what is known as Sex Magic. This was because red magic was often cast with the help of two people: Married couples or lovers where the body, mind, and spirit were made into one. To make these things one, the two souls have to give each other completely, which is only possible by having sex. Thus, with such a practice, red magic became famous as sex magic. Still, we should note that red magic being termed sex magic is, in fact, not accurately true. Casting red magic spells requires the support and love of another person, be it the opposite gender or not. Be it a lover or a close friend connected spiritually with the person casting the spell or being cast upon.
Hoodoo and Its Connection to Voodoo in American Cultures
Some American cultures also termed red magic as Hoodoo, a subpart of the most powerful magic, Voodoo, practiced by those bought as slaves to the new world. Since the new world did not know much about the voodoo religion and the different magic practices, those slaves were treated with other names. While it was observed that red magic was practiced similarly to voodoo because it had rituals to be performed and included sacrifices and offerings before casting a spell, it was also termed Hoodoo in the New World.
Though not much red magic can be found, it is believed to have existed since the medieval ages. It is termed the simplest form of magic, which gives us the knowledge that magic is within each of us and that we are all spiritual beings. The only difference is that those who understand can use spirituality and the body and mind, which are media of communication, to connect to other energies and fulfill something impossible. Those who cannot realize are left out of the heart.
