Black Magic traditions in America (USA)

Black Magic traditions in America USA

Black Magic has existed since immemorial, but its presence has been different in various regions in other forms. This edition will deal with Black magic and the practices found in America’s regions. Though very few believe in black magic and its related procedures, many have an excellent hint of its existence.

While we speak about the state of New Orleans, it has been seen that most of the individuals in these regions have been practicing Voodoo, and few have resorted to various kinds of black magic as well. Though the use of black magic was reduced to some extent in the Middle Ages, once again, we see a rise in black magic recently.

Where did the roots of this black magic lie, and how did it come to America?

At the onset, it was found that various colonies were formed when the Europeans discovered the new world, and settlements started in these regions. This was the same time when multiple types of bonded enslaved people were taken in, and with these enslaved people came various taboos, practices, and customs. These enslaved people were mainly from Africa, where black magic had been prevalent quite extensively.

In the practices followed, many demons and idol worship were done to achieve or attain the impossible. Due to the disastrous side effects that the same caused, such practice was banned in these colonies. But though there were a lot of bans on such methods, the enslaved people continued with their practices.

The Roots of African-American Black Magic Practices

When the enslaved people finished their hard day’s work, they had nothing else to do except chant the spells, which they knew kept their customs and practices alive. Hence, after they retired from work, they would light bonfires and start practicing their traditions and customs. As they also practiced animal sacrifices, the same took root in America.

Slowly and gradually, the roots got embedded deep, and with time, various individuals also practiced these skills in America. Apart from that, these practices were used for self-protection purposes. But again, they were practiced in secrecy for fear of being out-casted from society.

Tracing the Origins and Impacts of Voodoo Magic Practices

Most of the voodoo practices originated in regions like Haiti. Voodoo magic usually inculcated varied practices, like animal sacrifices. A few resorted to hanging various amulets and charms to protect themselves from all kinds of evil or bring good luck.

If one is confused about whether these kinds of magic were used to harm someone or for good intentions, there are no records or evidence. Still, it is for sure that these magical practices had significant effects and impacts and, when not appropriately practiced, had disastrous consequences as well.
